Here's our June 2022 update on the latest info for the Under the Seas of Vodari Kickstarter.

The Hero's Guide to Vodari

  • This guide was send out to all of our Kickstarter backers last month and our next step will be to send out a feedback survey. We really hope everyone can take a few moments to complete a survey and help us create the best book possible.
  • The Hero's Guide to Vodari v1.0 is missing two appendices which were sent out alongside the PDF in draft format. These appendices are with layout and will be added to v1.1 of the PDF along with any changes we make due to your feedback.
  • People who missed out on our Kickstarter and jumped on late backers will get a chance to purchase the final PDF later this year.

Under the Seas of Vodari

We're working hard to close out the final Under the Seas of Vodari PDF...

ARTWORK

  • We're continuing to work on finalizing the remaining art and maps. 
  • We're very close to finalizing all of the NPCs from the gazetteer and the three remaining vehicles sketches should be completed next week. 
  • We will share previews of the vehicles in our next update.

DIGITAL REWARDS

We're currently working to deliver the following digital rewards by late June 2022/early July 2022:

Here's an update on the latest info for this Kickstarter.

The Hero's Guide to Vodari

  • Earlier this morning, we shipped The Hero's Guide to Vodari stretch goal to all Kickstarter backers. Late pledge backers and others will be able to purchase this PDF at a later date.
  • We wanted to get all of the finalized player facing content from Under the Seas of Vodari found in this PDF to our backers, even if that meant taking our focus off the main book for a bit. 
  • This 134 page version (v1.0) is missing two appendices which were sent out alongside the PDF in draft format. These appendices will be added with final layout to v1.1 of the PDF. 
  • We also have final drafts for two short gazetteers (for the islands and undersea locales) which we were considering adding to v1.1 but will now be sending out as editable documents to all backers. This will allow gamemasters to protect setting content spoilers from their players who read the Hero's Guide or choose to provide this content to their players after modifying it to better fit their table. We'd love to hear in the comments below whether you would prefer full sentences or bullets for each location.
  • Feedback on providing this book in softcover (or hardcover) formats has been positive and we will look into options once we complete shipment of the hardcover version of Under the Seas of Vodari.

Stretch Goal Adventure

  • The outline for the adventure is complete and we are targeting a late 2022 delivery. 
  • The adventure will take PCs to various Vodari locales, both above and below the waves.
  • The adventure will target PCs somewhere in the range of levels 6 to 9, allowing for continuation from The Sunken City of Zuroth (levels 3-5, found in Under the Seas of Vodari) or The Island with No Name (levels 1-3, found in The Seas of Vodari) after a little island hopping for 4th and 5th level.
  • We'll provide more details on this adventure in our July 2022 update.

Under the Seas of Vodari

  • Now that The Hero's Guide to Vodari has shipped, we're returning our full focus on completing Under the Seas of Vodari.
  • We're continuing to work on finalizing the remaining art and maps and making final edits to the gazetteer and adventure.

  • We expect to send out v1.0 of Under the Seas of Vodari to all backers and late pledges in July. 
  • We will send out a feedback survey in July as well.

4) ADDRESS LOCK DATE - July 2022

  •  We will lock addresses in late July 2022. You will be able to change your address at that time.

4) HARDCOVER PRINT - August 2022

  • Once we have feedback and fix any typos/errata, we will send v1.1 of the PDF to our local printer and send the final v1.1 PDF out.

5) HARDCOVER SHIPPING - September/October 2022

  • We expect the turnaround from the printer will be 3-6 weeks based on our previous order and conversations. 
  • The current state of the world's supply chain can always impact plans and we'll keep everyone updated on any issues or delays.

April 2022 Update

Due to the long weekend, we're a few days later than normal on sending out this update. Thanks for your patience and here's an update on the latest info for this Kickstarter.

Mounts & Vehicles Preview

The mounts and vehicles chapter is 100% complete and we're just waiting for the remaining artwork to arrive for 4 vehicles. 

"Most undersea people are strong swimmers and can travel short distances quickly. That hasn’t stopped undersea people from adopting the use of mounts and vehicles for longer journeys, transporting goods, and warfare. This chapter looks at mount and vehicle options for your campaign. You’ll also find combat rules, weapons stats, and upgrades for the vehicles."

The chapter contains mounts, five vehicles that are worn/drawn by mounts, and six vehicles that are powered by a new undersea fuel (called fire ice). The powered vehicles range from the single pilot Current Rider to the gargantuan Guardian class battle platform. We've also provided rules to help gamemasters run undersea vehicle combat.

2) Under the Seas of Vodari

  • Layout is progressing well on the majority of the book.
  • Our main hurdle on releasing the PDF for Under the Seas of Vodari is getting the final pieces of artwork and maps completed for three remaining chapters (the gazetteer, remaining vehicles, and the adventure). We appreciate your patience as we complete these art assets and move those chapters into final layout. 
  • In our next update (or sooner), we'll update all delivery dates and set an address lock date. We're looking forward to moving from production to distribution and getting the finished book out to everyone.

The Hero's Guide to Vodari 

  • Our original plan was to complete this book after we completed Under the Seas of Vodari. 
  • We're accelerating the completion of The Hero's Guide to Vodari while we wait for the remaining art/maps for Under the Seas of Vodari. 
  • We are also looking at options for a softcover print of this book. Let us know in the comments below If you are interested in having us provide a softcover print option in the near future.

March 2022 Update

The Hero's Guide to Vodari

  • The cover of this PDF is complete and we're about 80% done merging all of the content. 
  • This book is designed to help players in a Vodari campaign create and equip characters to fit the world. Whether your campaign takes place above or below the waves, you’ll find plenty of player options, equipment, and more to create your character.
  • This book only includes content that is from The Seas of Vodari and Under the Seas of Vodari. We did not write any new stuff for this PDF.
  • All Under the Seas of Vodari  Kickstarter backers will receive this PDF as Kickstarter reward. For anyone else, we'll share what purchase options will be available soon.
